the glowing desert

Last night I had a great dream. Firstly, it was some kind of assignment, maybe even a punishment (?), that I had to go help with the putting-out of the light in the desert. It wasn’t a fire, the desert plants and stones were just kind of glowing, and it was apparently a routine task [...]

cecca’s august blog tooth!

whoooa. whoah whoa.
a) I really wish / I really would have loved to be able to join you (tim) and everybody (you) at the Helsing Junction Sleepover. hell. yeah. oh, hell no. so I will be thinking of you all, fondly. I was thinking that I might go out with my sister when she returns [...]

mostly declarative fact update + some astrological trivia

I made it home to Myrtle Beach. I’m working in a natural foods store; it’s the same one we frequented when I was growing up here, only they relocated it to be near the high commerce WalMart zone; that’s pretty strange.
My co-workers: two are young plug-donning hxc types from Syracuse, NY – what are they [...]

details from May

I have been 100% absent from this blog for about 90% of the time that I have been in Northampton. I am about to leave Northampton and head home again. South Carolina is a crazy place to spend summer, but I am prepared for ultimate sticky sweaty air as long as it means not paying [...]

no-ho, m-a

well I’ve made my move out of old New York, and I’m up in the land of Massachusetts, now. Northampton is cold, but nice, and my room is not so cold, and my roommate is also nice. our kitchen is large, and this girl has a lot of vegetarian cookbooks. I just got a job [...]

neon bible, pt 2

1-866-neonbible, it works now!

no homework

So I heard on the radio tonight a little bit about this book called the homework myth … and apparently this isn’t a new idea – there are other books written on the same subject, arguing that sending students (even in high school) home with more schoolwork “overburdens kids and limits learning.” I don’t [...]

neon bible

so, the Arcade Fire have apparently completed their second album for merge. it’s apparently called Neon Bible and apparently if you call the number on this creepy website you get to hear part of it! i couldn’t get it to work, but maybe it was my phone’s fault?

raw slab of twizzler

while checking out the website of the new magazine craft (presumably clearly from the publishers of make, and perhaps also readymade?) … i found this lovely array of “dessert sushi“, mostly made of gummies. nice.
ps: tim, they’re also making ipod-satchels… looks like you’re one step ahead of the game. or maybe a few steps. maybe [...]

what’s fadinna?!

i love liv. you also love liv, don’t you? at her new blogspot, liv blogs about what’s for dinner. in that spirit, and in the spirit of food-blogs everywhere, let me tell you that i had some tomato cabbage soup that i’d brought home from work last week, and forgotten to finish in the time [...]
